Filing for Graduation

To graduate from the University of Houston and Bauer College, students must officially apply for graduation by "filing for graduation" through PeopleSoft.

Students should only apply for graduation for the semester in which they will complete all graduation requirements (finish all courses for their degree). Students who wish to participate in the Bauer Commencement Ceremont must RSVP below in addition to "filing for graduation".

Students "filing for graduation" may submit a graduation application request online through their PeopleSoft account or by submitting a paper request to the Graduation Office (128 Welcome Center). Students may download the graduation application by clicking here.

NOTE: To all graduating seniors: prior to receiving your diploma you will need to fill out an employment survey.  Please watch for an email that will be sent to your UH alias after the last day of classes.

RSVP information is available at www.bauer.uh.edu, listed under "News & Events", starting in November for the Fall ceremony and in March for the Spring ceremony. Detailed information about ceremony time, location, graduation clothing, and invitations will be given at the time that students RSVP.

The Graduation Filing Process

  1. Fill out a Graduation Application in online or paper form. Submit your request through your PeopleSoft account or turn in a paper application to the front desk in 128 Welcome Center (applications available at the front desk).
  2. Await your conditional approval for graduation from the Bauer College. Before the end of your graduating semester, you should receive a Analyst Certification for Application for Graduation in the mail from your academic advisor stating whether you are approved, conditionally approved, or disapproved for graduation.  If you do not receive your Analyst Certification for Application for Graduation at least a month before the end of your graduating semester, contact your advisor.
  3. Complete the employment survey.  This survey will be emailed to your UH email alias address following final exams.  You must complete this survey before your degree can be awarded.  Completion to this survey benefits you and your classmates by providing anonymous aggregate data about the job market and average salaries for graduates to interview and negotiate more effectively.  For this reason and as part of out college's requirements for accreditation, this survey is a requirement for all graduates.
  4. Await your diploma. If you meet all requirements set forth by UH/Bauer College for graduation, your final graduation approval will be processed within 4-6 weeks of the end of your graduating semester. Students normally receive their diplomas from the Graduation Office in the mail 2-3 months after the end of their graduating semester.  It is important to make sure that the Graduation Office has a correct address to which your diploma will be mailed in the U.S. or overseas. In the event that you do not know where you will be living several months after graduation, it is recommended that you have your diploma mailed to your parents, or to a friend or relative with a stable mailing address. If you do not receive your diploma within 3 months of completing your degree, contact the UH Graduation Office at (713)743-1010.

Check Remaining Degree Requirements Prior to Graduation
