Bio

Nicholas Cox (Ph.D., History, University of Houston) is Clinical Assistant Professor for Global Studies in the Bauer College of Business. Dr. Cox teaches the History of Globalization and International Business History. For Global Studies, Dr. Cox is also curating the Global Studies Film Series and initiating a travel abroad summer program in Africa. His recently completed research on the education of mixed-race and Native American children in antebellum Kentucky is under revision in anticipation of publication. Dr. Cox is currently researching the impact of sugar and slavery on the development of the early 19th century Gulf Coast economy with an eye on comparative economic history in developing nations, historical and contemporary. He has published book reviews in American Nineteenth Century History, U.S. Intellectual History, H-Net Civil War, and has contributed to several encyclopedias of 19th century history.
