internship credit request process
In order for students to receive credit for their internship assignment they MUST attend a mandatory internship credit workshop. Students can sign up for this session through their Career Gateway account.
Each department has different requirements and prerequisites please reference your placement packet to see if you meet your departments criteria.
Graduate level students (with the exception of PPA and MS Accountancy students), must approach their department directly about enrolling in an independent study or another similar course in order to receive credit for their internship. The GENB 4396 course is not designed for graduate level students
- Students should download the appropriate Placement Packet for their major below and fill it out.
- On the petition form you should tag option 11, and indicate the course you would like to register for (GENB 4396)
- Students should take the prescreening form to their academic advisors and have them fill it out.
- Students Placement Packet and Prescreening forms are due to the RCC office by the internship academic request due date.
Placement Packets and Prescreening forms MUST be filled out in its entirety in order to be processed. If you are approved for the course you must pay the associated fees for the course(just as you would pay for any course you register for)
Placement Packets by Major
Review the guidelines for receiving internship academic credit for your major and complete the General Petition as outlined above.
Undergraduate Accounting Majors
Undergraduate Accounting majors are not eligible to receive accounting credit for their internship. Most students whose internship also has a financial component usually approach the Finance department in order to request credit for their internship.
