Good morning all!
The IIA Research Foundation (IIARF) is pleased to announce the 2010 Esther R. Sawyer Manuscript Completion Award Competition.
Students wishing to compete in the annual Esther R. Sawyer Award can only do so if they are entering or currently enrolled at the University of Houston (or another IAEP Partner Level school) as undergraduates or graduates, have completed the Internal Auditing Certificate or will do so by May, 2010, or will be completing the Internal Audit/Risk Track for the MS Accountancy Program in 2010.
Students are asked to submit an original manuscript on a specified topic, which is related to modern internal auditing. The topic for 2010 is as follows:
What lessons should internal auditors learn from the current financial crisis? What opportunities for improvement exist for the internal audit (IA) profession in the risk management and governance arenas? What corrections should be made moving forward to:
a. better prevent such a global crisis from occurring in the future?
b. enhance IA’s value to stakeholders and senior management?
The 2010 Esther R. Sawyer Manuscript Completion Award carries a cash prize of US $5,000 to the award winner, and the award winner is invited to attend the annual International Conference (registration and travel expenses are paid for).
Submissions are due March 1, 2010 and submission instructions and additional background information can be found by going to the following IIA link: http://www.theiia.org/research/submit-a-proposal/scholarships-and-grants/esther-r-sawyer-scholarship-award/
I am available to help any students who are interested on working on this award. All you have to do is ask!
