ACADEMY SPORTS AND OUTDOORS is looking for an accounting student to intern for Summer 2009 at their corporate headquarters on Fry Road in Katy.
DATES: Friday, May 29th / Friday, August 7th
PAY: $10/HR
HOURS: 40/WK M-F Typically 8AM-5PM
LOCATION: 1800 North Mason Road Katy, TX 77449
Goals and Objectives:
Gain understanding of financial areas and their impact on the organization such as Payroll, Treasury, Finance and Planning, Loss Prevention, Inventory Control and Internal Audit.
Some Responsibilities:

Create task specs, including what should be accomplished and risks being addressed

Assist with roll-out and documentation of accounts payable, travel and expense, tax filing, reconciliations etc.

Work with imaging consultants

Assist with product category mapping and IT implementation from a tax perspective

Assist in the research needed to complete the product classification
