PPA. MPA: DEADLINE to apply for Graduation is Feb. 8th.

Monday, 28 January 2008 11:17 by thopkins

“How do I file for graduation?”

Good question!  Just to be clear this is the form to tell the University that this is your last semester and you are finishing your BBA or Master's degree.

(If SUMMER 2008 will be your last semester you can fill out the form now too, just make sure you indicate Summer 2008 on the Application.)

The deadline to apply for graduation is FEBRUARY 8TH.

Fill out the paper application that is here:  graduation_appl.pdf (91.82 kb)

print it out, fill in the blanks, and take it over to 128 Welcome Center. Be sure to ask for a copy as proof that you turned it in.

As for the BAUER COMMENCEMENT (i.e. walking the stage) information on that will be available in March on the Bauer Website. We will make a new blog entry when it is available.

UPDATE: The reasoning for using the paper forms is that Graduate students are not able to go online to apply for graduation (even using the old system). Undergraduates may use the old system (Enrollment Services Online) to apply for graduation but may use the paper form as well.

PPA, MPA, CAP: EY BoardMatters Quarterly Online...

Thursday, 24 January 2008 12:42 by thopkins

Karen Glover from Ernst & Young has sent a link to the January 2008 issue of BoardMatters Quarterly. This issue of BoardMatters Quarterly features articles on financial reporting that may be of interest to you.   Articles include:

  • An Audit Committee Member’s Perspective on Financial Reporting and Year-End
  • XBRL: Financial Reporting for the Future?
  • The Continued Emergence of Fair Value: Are You Prepared?
  • Forward View: Advice on IFRS from European Audit Committee Chairs

She has also sent links to two new publications designed to raise awareness around the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) recent actions and roundtables around International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), U.S. GAAP v. IFRS: The Basics and Hot Topic: IFRS in the U.S.

U.S. GAAP v. IFRS: The Basics is a high-level comparison guide to raise awareness about IFRS for our clients and friends. Hot Topic: IFRS in the U.S. highlights discussions held at recent SEC roundtables about the effect a single set of high quality global accounting standards would have in the U.S. We hope you find these publications to be of interest and helpful to prepare for the time when U.S. companies potentially will be given the option (or will be required) to convert their financial reporting from U.S. GAAP to IFRS.

In addition to these publications, there are a number of IFRS materials available at http://www.ey.com/ifrs

Best regards,

karen.glover@ey.com
